Andrographis paniculata extract

1. Liver protection

Andrographolide prevents BHC-induced γ-glutamyl transpeptidase, glutathione-S-transferase enzyme activity and lipid peroxidation. The activity of antioxidant enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione 

peroxidase, etc. and glutathione levels will decrease under the action of BHC. The use of andrographolide shows a protective effect on the activity of superoxide dismutase, catalase, glutathione peroxidase, glutathione reductase and maintenance of glutathione levels. The activity of lipoperoxidase also decreases. This result shows the antioxidant and hepatoprotective functions of Andrographis paniculata.

2. Relieve cold symptoms

A study measuring the effectiveness of andrographolide compared with placebo in reducing common cold symptoms. In a patient population consisting of 158 adult men and women, the effect of andrographolide was measured on days 0, 2, and 4. The group of patients taking andrographolide on Day 2 showed some reduction in related symptoms. By Day 4 the same group of patients compared with the group taking placebo, all symptoms were significantly reduced. In short, the rate and intensity of andrographolide to reduce the symptoms of uncomplicated common cold symptoms will be very obvious in the first two days of treatment, and no adverse effects have been found.
